Lynn Carpet Centre is an independent, family-run flooring specialist established in 1969.

For more than 55 years, we have helped customers across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and South East Lincolnshire find the right flooring for their homes and businesses. We pride ourselves on honest advice, quality products and friendly, professional service without pressure selling.

We are now looking for a friendly and dependable Sales and Showroom Assistant to join our experienced team.

We are flexible about how we fill the position and would be happy to appoint either one full-time employee or two part-time employees.

This is a varied, customer-focused role covering the complete journey from a customer’s first enquiry through to measuring, ordering and installation.

You will welcome customers into the showroom, listen to what they need and help them choose suitable carpets, vinyl, luxury vinyl tiles and other flooring products.

You do not need previous flooring experience. Full product and systems training will be provided, supported by hands-on learning alongside our experienced showroom and fitting teams.

• Welcoming customers and providing friendly, professional service
• Understanding customers’ requirements and offering suitable flooring advice
• Helping customers compare products, colours and practical options
• Preparing quotations and processing orders
• Answering telephone, email and website enquiries
• Maintaining accurate customer and order records
• Arranging measuring appointments and fitting dates
• Coordinating with our estimators and employed fitting team
• Keeping customers informed throughout their order
• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming showroom
• Occasionally visiting customers’ properties to measure and prepare estimates

Our normal working hours for this position are:

• Monday to Friday: 8:30am–5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• Saturday: 9:30am–3:30pm

Saturdays are shared on a fair rota and planned in advance.

For part-time appointments, we are looking for people who can work complete daytime shifts. The weekday and Saturday schedule will be divided between the two successful applicants, with each position expected to average approximately 22–24 hours per week.

Full-time hours will be arranged across the week, with adjusted time off when working a Saturday.

Previous experience in flooring, retail, sales, customer service, interiors or estimating would be helpful but is not essential.
